Summer in the rose garden

Now supported by the lush foilage around the rose garden, the vibrant colours of the roses continues to flush brightly against the green. This is the sight awaiting a traveler looking out of the bay windows at 40 on ilkey B&B, every morning.

Arum lily

We are experiencing the weirdest weather patterns lately. It is raining softly this afternoon. It feels like Cape winter.

The droplets of rain on the arum lilies are beautiful. The lilies are luminescent green with a heart of the blackest black. Amazing!

At the entrance to the  B&B we have day lilies, aron lilies and lily proteas all in bloom at this stage. I absolutely love the soft fragrance lingering at the door.

Berries, anyone?

This make a very positive addition to any fresh fruit salad, that is if it reaches the kitchen.

The Mermaid's new garden

These funny yellow flowers were a pressie From our last batch of compost. Mmmm... Looks nice, but makes you think twice. I have to feed  the worms today.We should be using our own!
